Observation #1

I observed a 6th grade math class at Blue Valley Middle School. I observed the weeks of 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, and 2/17. The teacher I observed was Ms. Schultz. Her 6th hour class was a plus class that had around 24 students and her 7th hour class was a regular class that only had 10 students and then her 8th hour was a guided study class. While observing this classroom I realized that I didn't want to be a middle school teacher or teach the same subject. The students were very welcoming and had good behavior most of the time but I didn't feel like I would be passionate about middle school.

Observation #2

For my second observation I observed a Kindergarten class at Blue River Elementary. The teacher I observed was Mrs. Culbertson, I knew right when I walked into the class that I wanted to teach the young kids. I found out that I love to interact with the young kids. In order to be a teacher to the young kids one has to have extreme patience. I think being a kindergarten teacher is challenging because you have to be loving with the kids but when they are slacking off you have to be very stern with the kids.

Observation #3

For my third observation I started off at a third grade class at Sunrise Point Elementary. I was there for one day and went back to the CAPS building the next day because I wanted to ask my teacher if I could go back to my kindergarten class because I knew right away I didn't want to teach third grade. The next day, I returned to my kindergarten class and they all came running up to me yelling, "Ms. Zimmerman" and right then I knew I made the right decision by going back to kindergarten. When I was in the third grade class I missed the little kids asking me to tie their shoes and asking me how to spell words.
